It can't rain all the time...

It never feels like Halloween is right around the corner until you watch this film. For years and years, I've never let October 30th go by without watching it. It still is, and always will be, my all time favourite... better get the tissues ready.

*goosebumps*

Also, if anyone mentions a sequel, or re-make of this film in my company, I will hit you.

Zombies are the only thing scarier than air travel.

I see the latest episode of 'The Walking Dead' is now available to watch... should I watch it alone? I think not.

If you're laughing at me right now, up yours [appropriate gesture occurs here] because it's r-e-a-l-l-y scary, okay? And I'm talking churning stomach plus sweaty palms scary. Yup.

On a lighter note, that Andrew Lincoln and Steven Yeun, eh? Oh aye ;p

Intuition...

My weekend:

- I got really sick. It wasn't pretty.
- Uther died and Arthur became King.
- Laura, that bugger, still won't tell me if Tyler Lockwood died or not last week.
- I ate a vegetarian spag bol and couldn't tell it was fake meat. First. Time. Ever.

Oh, and I no longer work for Tesco. And luckily for me, it feels so damn good that there are no words to describe how I'm feeling. Trouble avoided... hah!

Basically, I have the next month or so all to myself to pack and spend time with the people I'll miss. And avoid the people I won't.

*cackle*

Well, it's Sunday night, which can only mean one thing: 'Independance Day' is on.

0330...

Thanks, stress.

The past 48 hours have been completely manic... yesterday I received an email from my agency saying that the job I thought was mine had been given to someone else who's already in Korea. Gah. THEN, I was given an interview with another school, which was this morning. About an hour ago, I was told I got the job! Now, I've never been a huge believer when it comes to the "everything happens for a reason" philosophy, but if anything is going to change my mind, it's this. The new position looks great, the wage is better and the apartment situation is sorted. Good times.

And instead of leaving a week after finishing my exams, at least I have a few extra work-free weeks at home before I head off.

*collective sigh of relief*...

The Darkest Hour...

As a girl who flies the geek flag with pride, I'm not ashamed to admit that the best part of my week in the Spring/Summer months is Doctor Who on a Saturday night. And in the Autumn/Winter, it's Merlin. I love the spin they've put on such an epic legend, and the bromance between Arthur and Merlin completely makes it.

Last weeks' series opener was absolutely amazing, and this weeks' would have been if it wasn't for one tiny detail. Now, I'm used to them not exactly going along with the plot of the original legend but... Lancelot? Really?! I'm still reeling... *sob*

And yes, I really did just dedicate an entire post to Merlin. And there are still 11 episodes of this series to go so deal with it ;)

Haru haru...

Well, October is in full swing now which can only mean one thing... I'm ill. Oh yes, it's time for my yearly bout of the cold. I'm also on antibiotics thanks to a wisdom tooth that appeared out of nowhere and mangled my gum, eugh. Did anyone else know that the dentist could actually prescribe medicine?? Meh, you learn something weird and new everyday.

So I'm down to two weeks before the agreed leaving date. I think it'll feel more real once I get my visa number, until then it's still feeling a little up in the air.

Anyway, in keeping with the title of this post, I really need to put Korea to the back of my mind just now and take things day by day by getting ready for these exams. First up on Monday is "crime, offenders and policing" and I've opted to cover violent offenders, terrorism and profiling. So, in my most sarcastic of tones, three days of light reading ahead, eh? Even the thought of it is depressing. Someone remind why I chose this subject please?!

Okay, I quickly get tired of my own whining so I'll leave you with...

방용국 - "I Remember" (feat. Yang Yo Seop)

I'm still not entirely sure what's actually happening in this video, but it's still one of my favourites to turn up really REALLY loud. And it still makes me cry. If you don't have a tear in your eye at the end then you have no soul :p

Strawberry beer and farewells...

As the time until I leave drops from four weeks to three weeks, it feels more and more real. So let the farewells begin...

This was pretty much my weekend;

  • Friday: Party at Mum's house. My mum knows how to throw a party.
  • Saturday: Cinema, then dinner with the other half and his little sister. We even made it home in time for the ultimate geek-fest: the 'Doctor Who' finale followed by new 'Merlin'. Epic.

I'd just like to add - I SO called the 'oldest question in the universe'...

"Doctor who?" :p

  • Sunday: I worked my second-last Sunday for a certain company, then went out for dinner with the optical girls to the only pub in town that sells strawberry beer on tap... which also turned out to be a surprise leaving do for me!
  • Monday: And, as if I hadn't been spoiled enough, I was treated to lunch and wine!

I really will start studying for my first exam soon... heh.
